Shoulder Update: "Light at the End of the Tunnel"

Monday, June 1, 2015

I’m at the fifth month mark of my recovery, and my healing continues to incrementally improve each day. Following the cortisone shot described in my last entry, my shoulder loosened up and progress restarted. Thankfully, additional surgery was not required, and according to my surgeon and physical therapist, my recovery has “turned the corner.” I’ve been given the OK to begin slowly resuming normal activity. There’s another 3-4 months of exercising and stretching to restore full strength and range of motion, but questions about the integrity of the repair and the need for additonal interventions have all been answered. It’s good to see some light after a long year of uncertainty and some degree of despair.
