Lake Lyman

Housing

A rustic cabin is available for hosts to stay in during their time at the camp. The cabin has a small kitchen, a full bath, and sleeping accomodations for two or more people. Electricity is provided as needed by an onsite generator, and a propane powered refrigerator, stove, and water heater are provided. A wood stove is used to heat the cabin when needed.

The cabin is currently being renovated but is fully functional and will adequately meet the needs of hosts during their stay. Because no washing machine is available at the camp, each host couple is asked to bring their own bedding, dish towels, dish cloths, bath towels, and wash cloths. Also, since host couples will change every two weeks, it is important that each couple takes responsibility for cleaning the cabin before leaving, removing any food or extra items they brought with them, and leaving the cabin in as good, or better, condition than they found it.

Below, is information about how each room in the cabin is outfitted so hosts will know what to expect and what personal and supplemental items they will want to bring with them. Images of the cabin may be viewed through the following link: Lake Lyman Images.

Bedroom

The bedroom is located upstairs in a loft and has a primary sleeping area with two twin extra long beds. The loft has a balcony that overlooks the main floor of the cabin and has a landing area where additional people may sleep if needed.

The landing area has a pole for hanging clothes and plenty of room for storing bags and other items not being used. A small cabinet is available in the bedroom area for storing a limited amount of clothing, but hosts should expect to “live out of their bags” during their stay.

Bedding

The two beds are equipped with memory foam mattresses, waterproof covers, and fitted sheets. Hosts should review the options below for using the beds and plan accordingly.

     •  Option one: Bring sleeping bags to sleep in on top of the mattresses. Bring pillows.

     •  Option two: Bring "XL twin" sheets and bedding for each bed. Bring pillows.

     •  Option three: Push the two beds together and bring "king size" sheets and bedding. Bring pillows.

Note: If you use option three, you will have limited room for moving around the beds and for getting into and out of them due to the design of the cabin.

Bathroom

The bathroom has a vanity with sink and mirror, a combination tub and shower, a toilet, three small storage shelves, fixtures for hanging towels and clothing, an electrical outlet, and hot and cold running water. Hosts must bring their own towels, wash cloths, and personal toiletries including soap and shampoo.

Living Room

The living room has a full size futon (couch/bed), a recliner, a work area with desk and chair, and a dining area with a table and three chairs.

Kitchen

The kitchen has a propane stove & oven, a propane refrigerator, a small microwave, and a double bowl sink with hot and cold running water. It is equipped with dishes and flatware for four people, and a basic set of cookware and cooking utensils. Hosts must bring their own dish towels and dish cloths.
